Larry Carl Russell Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Larry Carl Russell of Herrin, Illinois is shared. Larry, born on September 28, 1940 in Crainville, Illinois, passed away on October 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Russell and Ethel Russell (Howerton); his parents-in-law, Ralph and Agnes Holder; his sister-in-law Elaine Holder; and his nephew Bradley Holder.

He is survived by: his wife Saundra Russell; his children, Sherry DeAngelo (Mark) of Benton and Sean Russell (Lauri Curry) of Benton; his grandchildren, Sierra DeAngelo of Glen Carbon, Brooke DeAngelo of Glen Carbon, Dustin Russell of Herrin and Dylan Russell of Galena; his brother-in-law Harold "Butch" Holder of Herrin; and his nieces, Pam Hays of Herrin and Deidra Nugent (John) of Herrin. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Lakeview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Mission Church in Marion.
