It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda L. Hawkins of Herrin, Illinois, born in Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on July 23, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Lindsey Sanders and Beulah Sanders (Ferguson); her husband Curt Hawkins; her son-in-law Gary Peldo; and her siblings, Lowanda Cheatham and Loren "Flea" Sanders.

She is survived by : her children, Tami Peldo of Marion, Lee Newberry (Jamie) of Milan and Chad Newberry (Brittany) of Rock Island, Illinois; her sisters, Lily Arlene Hayden of Carbondale and Shelby "Sally" Winfield of Carbondale; and her sister-in-law Mary Lou Sanders of Steeleville. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Residential Hospice.
