He was predeceased by : his parents, Dale D. "Spade" Walter and Eileen L. Walter (Cole); his wife Patricia Ann Hale; and his sister Patsy A. Walter. He is survived by : his children, Richard A. "Rick" (Christy Walter), David (Kelly Walter), Chad E. Walter of New York and Sara Y.; his son-in-law Kenneth Sadler, Jr. of Herrin, Illinois; his grandchildren, Christopher Walter, Jacquelyn Walter, Melissa Walter, Strider Walter and Rease Walter; his siblings, W. Keith Walter of Las Vegas, Monty L. Walter of Lakewood, Illinois and Janet S. Padrick of Toledo, Illinois; and his siblings-in-law, David and Anita Hale of Madison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
