He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl McConnell and Thelma McConnell (Davis); his brother Carl L. McConnell; and his siblings-in-law, Bart and Mary Ann Lindsey.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores McConnell of Marion; his children, Lisa McCree of Carterville, IL, Michael (Treca McConnell) and Stephen McConnell of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Lindsey Falmier (Ambra Harper), Garen (Bailey McConnell), Marissa Ross (Aaron Taylor), Alec McConnell, Maya McConnell, Gavin McConnell and Amelia McConnell; his great grandchildren, Bram Falmier, Iyla Falmier, Shepherd McConnell and Marshell Taylor; and his siblings-in-law, Brad and Samara Lindsey of Clemmons, NC. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Herrin City Cemetery (1324 E Stotlar St #1320, Herrin, IL 62948). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Herrin Elks Lodge# 1146 (221 E Monroe St, Herrin, IL 62948).
