She was predeceased by : her parents, Catherine Leona Vaughn (Schlink) and Robert Lavern Vaughn; her brother William Robert Vaughn; her stepparents, Ira Lee Smith and Sue Vaughn; and her close friend Patty Eckols.
She is survived by : her husband Kenneth Penrod of Herrin, IL; her children, Lee Jackson (Doug), Lonnie Dean Beltz (Robin), Sharon Marie-Leona Burgess (Tom Allsopp) and Destanie Faith-Marie Taylor (Zac); her siblings, Susan Kerley (Bob), Frank Vaughn (Rose) and Michael Eric Vaughn; and her sister-in-law Cathy Vaughn. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-five great grandchildren.
