He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore F. Ahern and Leona Ahern (Pederson); his brother Neil Ahern; and his brother-in-law Ed Pazdur. He is survived by: his wife Rose Smolkovich of Herscher; his children, Joseph Ahern (Tammy) of Rolling Prairie, IN and Lynn McGinnis (Terry) of Herscher; his siblings, Theda Pazdur of Newport Beach, CA, Kathy Meisenbach (Joseph) of Kankakee and Thomas Ahern (Naomi) of Chicago; his grandchildren, Ryan Ahern (Angie) and Paul Ahern; and his great grandchildren, Theodore, Lilah and Bodhi.
