We announce the death of Gerald A. Frey of Highland, Illinois, who passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 83. Gerald will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Frey and Lenora Frey; his siblings, Vonnie Rutz (Ronnie), Barbara Workman and Wayne Frey; and his parents-in-law, Aloys and Mary Jane Baer.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Frey of St. Peters, MO, Tina Wright (Michael) of St. Charles, MO and Dean Frey of Edwardsville; his grandchildren, Maurice Mike (Keionna), Brittny Mike, Nate Frey, Ashley Frey, Kayla Richie (Kevin) and Grace Frey; his great grandchildren, Tyree Mike and Olivia Mike; his sister Donna Guetterman (Wayne) of Branson, MO; and his brother-in-law Louie Workman of Pocahontas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (1411 Main St, Highland, IL 62249).
In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Masses at St. Paul and will be received at the memorial mass or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 1501 9th St., Highland, IL 62249, which is serving the family.
