It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josie Huelsmann of Highland, Illinois, who passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Phelps and Mildred Phelps (Nee Ingram); her son Todd Sands; and her sister Vanesse McKinney. She is survived by: her husband Jim Huelsmann of Highland, IL; her children, Craig Sands (Shelly) of Highland, IL, Heather Hulvey (Matt) of Highland, IL and Jennifer Geiger (John) of Highland, IL; her grandchildren, Brendan Sands (Sophie), Megan Smith (Kash), Connor Sands (Paige), Nathan Hulvey and Collin Hulvey; her great grandchild Gianni Smith; and her brother Scott Phelps (Cindy) of Springdale, AL. She is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Heart Association.
