We announce the death of Kenneth A. Steiner of Highland, Illinois, born in Pierron, Illinois, who passed away on July 15, 2026, at the age of 87. Kenneth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand Steiner and Emma Steiner; his brothers, Ferdinand "Ferdie" Steiner and Gunther Steiner; and his parents-in-law, Aurino and Maria of Lourdes Freire.
He is survived by: his children, Andre Steiner (Bridget) of Edwardsville and Maria Zurliene (Steiner) of Breese; his wife Neide Steiner (Freire) of Highland; his grandchildren, Michael, Janie Steiner, Garett and Jackson Zurliene; and his brother Eric Steiner of Springfield. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Brazil; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and gifts, memorials may be made to Mater Dei Catholic High School and will be received at the funeral home or in care of Moss Funeral Home (1501 9th St., Highland, IL 62249).
