He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Andrew and Mary Lou Knisley (Kesinger); his brother Ronald Knisley; and his brother-in-law George Ginos (Cliff Sanford). He is survived by: his girlfriend Rhonda Sanford of Hillsboro, IL; his son Josh Knisley of Hillsboro, IL; his grandsons, Charles "Michael" Knisley and Joshua Alexander Knisley; and his sister Carolyn Sue Ginos of Hillsboro, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
