We announce the death of Carole Teresa Gates (Hillside, Illinois), who passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 92. Carole will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Carole will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Carole will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Carole’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eva Lavezzorio and Louis Lavezzorio; and her husband Jim Gates. She is survived by: her niece Toni Riley (John Riley); her nephew Michael Lavezzorio; and her great-nephew Adam Biggerstaff. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Carole's honor to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, continuing the mission that was so incredibly close to her heart.
