He is survived by: his wife Yeyo; his children, Desi Avila (Cristina), Vladimir Avila (Elizabeth) and Mario Avila (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Julian, Camila, Bianca, Lucas, Eliana, Nicolas and Javier; and his siblings, Margarita, Aurora, Teresa, Mario, Hector, Luis and Imelda.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Russo's Hillside Chapels (4500 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 8:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Giles Catholic Church (1045 Columbian Ave, Oak Park, IL 60302).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Donate Life America in Yeyo's memory. The gift of organ donation allowed Yeyo to extend his wonderful life and gave his family more precious years, memories, and adventures with the man they loved so deeply.
