She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleo (Robert L. Byrd Sr. Robert Jr.) and Deliah. She is survived by: her granddaughter Nicole Carrell (Justin); her great grandchildren, Isabelle Carrell and Charlotte Carrell; her siblings, Warren Byrd, Mildred Byrd Davis and Stephanie Byrd; her sister-in-law Rhonda Byrd (Bob); her goddaughter Kushita Stokes; her caregivers, Janice Harvey, Elsie and Prentis Speech; her cousin Dwight Kyles (Penneliva Hill); and her close friends, Estherlyn Maymon and Robinson of Alabama. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dorothy later joined her sister Deliah's church, Logos Outreach Ministries where she attended until COVID.
