It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy B. Easter (Hillside, Illinois), who passed away on October 21, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleo (Robert L. Byrd Sr. Robert Jr.) and Deliah. She is survived by: her granddaughter Nicole Carrell (Justin); her great grandchildren, Isabelle Carrell and Charlotte Carrell; her siblings, Warren Byrd, Mildred Byrd Davis and Stephanie Byrd; her sister-in-law Rhonda Byrd (Bob); her goddaughter Kushita Stokes; her caregivers, Janice Harvey, Elsie and Prentis Speech; her cousin Dwight Kyles (Penneliva Hill); and her close friends, Estherlyn Maymon and Robinson of Alabama. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory (4001 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (7661 W 63rd Pl, Summit, IL 60501). An entombment was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Lincoln Cemetery (12300 S Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60655). Dorothy later joined her sister Deliah's church, Logos Outreach Ministries where she attended until COVID.
