We are sad to announce that on May 31, 2025, James George Karones (Hillside, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Karones and Areti Karones; his wife Clara; his child Vasili; and his brother John Karones (Annette).
He is survived by: his children, George, William, Rita Yang (Tony), Angellica Rodriguez-Baz (Jorge), Alexandra Seigler (Steven), Nikko, Kalliope, Evanthia, Zoe, Stephanie and Grace; his great grandchildren, Kostas and Georgia; his siblings-in-law, Angela Karafotias (late Christ), Niki Marks (John) and Leo Manta (Sophia); his great-nieces, Antonia and Sophia; and his great-nephew John.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hursen Funeral Home (4001 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church (2501 S Wolf Rd, Westchester, IL 60154). A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Elmwood Cemetery (2505 Thatcher Ave, River Grove, IL 60171).
In lieu of flowers donations in James' name may be made to Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church.
