With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Holmes (Hillside, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 27, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Holmes and LaVerne Holmes; and his brother Randy Holmes. He is survived by: his children, Donna Putzell (Thomas), Laura Greig (David) and Michael C. Holmes (Sarah); his grandchildren, Melissa Putzell, Frank Putzell (Megan), Jennifer Putell, Ashley Greig and Brittany Smith (Tyler); his great grandchildren, Riley June Putzell, Walker Michael Putzell and Nolan David Smith; and his brother Patrick Holmes (late Kathy).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Russo's Hillside Chapels (4500 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
