It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ward Jackson Sr. (Hillside, Illinois), born in Greenwood, Mississippi, who passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustavia Jackson and John Jackson; and his siblings, Mary, Josephine, Gertie, Sam, Herbert, George, Paul and Gussie.

He is survived by: his children, Iris (James), Linda (Dexter Sr.), Freeman, Randy and David (Jolanda); his grandchildren, Isiah, Dexter Jr., Deiondre, David and Paris; his wife Shirley Anne Curtis; and his sister Birdette. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
