He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Ertle; his parents, Louis Ertle and Mae Ertle; and his sister Nancy Ertle. He is survived by: his children, James O. Ertle, Jr. and Elise Ann Quealy (Brendan); and his grandchildren, Ben Ertle, Brendan Quealy, Tess Quealy, Amanda Quealy and James Quealy.
