She was predeceased by: her brother Alan Thornton; and her grandson Westin Powell. She is survived by: her parents, Eugene Thornton and Joyce Staggs (Beckington); her husband Gary Powell; her children, Lance Powell (Rachelle) of Kings, IL, Marshall Powell (Danielle) of Stockton, IL, Carrie Riley (Jason) of Port St, Leslie Willmann (Gary) of Hartford City, IN and Kellie Carter (Jeff) of Virginia Beach, VA; her granddaughter Kenzy Bishop (Frank Nasca) of Rochelle, IL; and her brothers, Doug Thornton (Dawn) of Freeport, IL, Sammy Staggs of Beloit, WI and Brian Staggs (Jackie) of Machesney Park, IL.. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
