It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta J. Swieca of Homer Glen, Illinois, who passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Loretta J. Swieca to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Mitchell; her children, Natalie Merkel (late Tom) and Mitchell Swieca (Mary Rose); her grandson Scott Merkel; her great grandchild Matthew; her parents, Bernard and Viola; and her brother Leonard Zank (late Eleanor).
She is survived by: her children, Joanne Snep (Alan) and Christopher Swieca (Sara); her grandchildren, Suzanne Bausher (Greg), Jennifer Daley (Edward), Amy Curry (Scott), Shannon Swieca, Allison Swieca, Matthew Swieca, Megan Vincenti (Matthew), Kelsey Jorgensen (John) and Sara Swieca; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Anya, Miranda, Justin, Madelyn, Jared, Marcy, Evan, James, Winifred and Peter; and her siblings, Rita Zank, Chester Zank (late Estelle) and Edward Zank (late Frances).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Richard J Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services (12641 W 143rd St, Homer Glen, IL 60491). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 9:15 AM to 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Mother of Good Counsel Church (12641 W 143rd St, Homer Glen, IL 60491). A burial will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Resurrection Cemetery (200 W Romeo Rd, Romeoville, IL 60446).
