We announce the death of Susan K. Ormsby (Homewood, Illinois), born in Storm Lake, Iowa, who passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her father Paul Dlugosch; her grandparents, Louis, Bertha Dlugosch, John and Leora Elbert; her parents-in-law, Francis and Mary Elizabeth Ormsby; and her brothers-in-law, Thomas Ormsby and Michael Ormsby.
She is survived by: her mother Birdie Dlugosch (Elbert); her husband Patrick Ormsby (Regis University); her children, Lisa Sampson (Teddy), Jenny Armstrong, Patty Ormsby (Susie) and Chris Ormsby (Raechel Willard); her grandchildren, Charlotte, Maddy, Oscar, Olivia, Ella, Evie, Lyla, Christopher, Henry and Matilda; and her siblings, Paul Dlugosch (Joyce) and Anne McGrath (Kevin). She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home (18230 Dixie Hwy, Homewood, IL 60430). A Mass will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Veronica Catholic Church (1131 Douglas Ave, Flossmoor, IL 60422).
