He is survived by: his children, Jen Sowacke (Paul), Karen Markert (Jeff), Mike Werner (Maddalena), Brian Werner (Nancy) and Marc Werner (Jennifer); the mother of his children Joan Werner; his siblings, Tom Werner and Joan McVady; and his grandchildren, Olivia Sowacke, Grace Sowacke, Abbey Sowacke, Emily Torres (Markert), Danni Werner, Marissa McNeil (Werner), Philip Werner, Stephanie Lamb (Werner), Vivian Werner and Tabitha Werner.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home (18230 Dixie Hwy, Homewood, IL 60430). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church (17951 Dixie Hwy, Homewood, IL 60430).
