It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Junior Hurt of Hoopeston, Illinois, who passed away on August 11, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Edward and Annie Jane Hurt (Franklin); his wife Erma Jean Rutledge; and his siblings, Marie Spencer (Joe), Edna Gassaway (Fred) and Paul Hurt (Kay).
He is survived by: his sons, Jim Hurt (Terri) of Wellington, IL, Randy Hurt (Suzi-Beverly) of Danville, IL and Ernest Hurt (Mazie) of Hoopeston, IL; and his grandchildren, Dustin, Trevor, Alex Hurt and Melissa Carder. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
