He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Torres and Tomasa Torres Jimenez; and his brothers, Severo, Juan and Jorge Torres.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Raquel Torres Rangel of Anthony's Catholic Church; his children, Jose L. Torres Jr. (Heather), Veronica Gleckler (Michael), Angela Torres, Gerardo Torres and Moises Torres; his grandchildren, Cory Torres, Joel Torres, Julian Torres (Katie), Nathan Torres (Emma), Natalya Torres (Corbin), Stephen Gleckler, Joseph Gleckler, Victoria Gleckler and Mia Amador; his great grandchildren, Dallas, Raymond, Scarlett, Amellia and Lina; and his siblings, Maria, Malena, Concha, Raquel and Valentin.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (427 E Main St, Hoopeston, IL 60942). A rosary will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St Anthony Catholic Church (423 S 3rd St, Hoopeston, IL 60942).
