He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Birkey and Dorothy Birkey (Weaver); and his former wife Mavis Miller Birkey. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Beaty Birkey; his sons, Allan Birkey (Robin) of Brazil, IN and Tim Birkey of Bradenton, FL; his grandchildren, Christy Calderon (Carlos) of San Jose, CA, Bobby O. Styck (Kayla) of Brazil, IN and Abby Cunningham (Josh) of Wichita Falls, TX; his great grandchildren, Mateo, Ari Calderon, Bobby T., Zac Styck, Cali and Cade Cunningham; his stepdaughter Lisa Johnson (Steve) of Edna, TX; and his brothers, Vernon Birkey (Shirley) of Bradenton, FL and Bob Birkey (Liz) of Omaha, NE..
