Daryl Birkey Obituary

The memory of Daryl Birkey (Hopedale, Illinois), who passed away on January 30, 2026 at the age of 71, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Birkey and Delora Birkey (Litwiller); and his daughter Shelli Renee Birkey. He is survived by: his wife Debra F. Skaggs; his daughters, Lori [Joshua] Horning and Heidi [Andrew] Dussl; his grandchildren, Marissa Rushik (Luke), Landon Horning (Jacelyn), Bryson Horning, Olive and Iverson Dussl; and his siblings, Dave Birkey (Sharon), Linda Gonder (Rick) and Dale Birkey (Frances). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in memory of Daryl and his precious daughter Shelli may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
