He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth George and Margaret Conkling (Drynan); his daughter Kathleen Marie Seltveit (Conkling); his granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Kautz (Anderson); his brothers, Alvin Conkling and Herbert Conkling; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Cheshier, Darrel Lorch and Richard Landry.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane (Bloom); his children, Joy Swanson of Pekin, Deana Fogal (Daniel) of Pekin, David Anderson (Stacy) of Green Valley and Danial Anderson (Tracy) of Manito; and his siblings, Larry Conkling (Ida) of Pekin, Sharon Landry of Milton, Judy Lorch of Milton, Marcia Cheshier of Coleta and Bill Conkling (Darla) of Pittsfield. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Pekin First United Methodist Church (3514 Broadway St, Pekin, IL 61554). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
