With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Leilani Smock of Hopedale, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Leilani left this world on December 13, 2025 at the age of 73, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Leilani may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Leilani touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence "Slug" Slager and Lois Stanley Slager; and her brother Jess Slager. She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Birkey (Lisa) of Hopedale, Jason Birkey (Amanda) of Hopedale and Mary Rummerfield (Randy) of Hopedale; and her siblings, Sandy Wier (Tim) of Lacon and Joe Slager (Alice) of Hopedale. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
