He was predeceased by: his parents, Juanita Tarter and Clifford Tarter of Hopedale. He is survived by: his sons, Greg Tarter (Julie) of Hopedale and Jeff Tarter (Gina) of Bloomington. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
