He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Caplinger and Fern Caplinger; and his parents-in-law, Leo and Erma Meehan. He is survived by: his children, Michelle Mueller (Patrick) of Hoffman, Michael Caplinger of O'Fallon, David Caplinger (Karla) of Carlyle, Lori Caplinger (Paula Richards) of Holland, TX and Melanie Caplinger (Conner Murray) of Hoyleton; his grandchildren, Braden Mueller (Alma), Paige Hampel (John), Janna Caplinger, Katheryn Johns (Alec), Amanda Frese (Cody), David Caplinger (Elyse), Taylor Caplinger, Jake Richards, Daymeon Baugh, Hailey Baugh, Zane Fletcher, Dilan Murray, Peyton Murray and Kyler Murray; his great grandchildren, Olivia Mueller, Wyatt, Kameron Hampel, Brody Crabtree, Elena Johns, Aiden, Elliott, Remy and Belle Frese; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Meehan (Marcia) of Smithton, Judy Sutton of Belleville and Gail Meehan of O'Fallon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Styninger Funeral Home ~ Nashville (224 S Washington St, Nashville, IL 62263).
