He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Diedrick and Fern Diedrick (Halbmaier); his brothers, Donald and Merlyn "Lurch"; his grandsons, Adam and Andrew; and his brother-in-law John Friedland.
He is survived by: his wife Leona Thomas; his children, Mark (Lisa), Paul (Allison), Kurt (Gretchen) and Kaye Cichy (Jim); and his sister Marlene Friedland. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
