He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Loyd and Margaret Loyd (Ferguson); his wife Linda Simmons; his brother Sam; and his son-in-law James.
He is survived by: his children, Paula Hartman of Park Hills, MO, Peggy Horne (Tyler) of Illiopolis, IL and Brian Loyd of Illiopolis, IL; and his siblings, Linda Morris (John) of Georgetown, IL, Debra Loyd of Springfield, IL, Anita Marquis (Wayne) of Springfield, IL, Danny Loyd (Kim) of Springfield, IL, Marilyn Mcubbin (Dave) and Carolyn Messmore (Dave) of Springfield, IL. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services (302 W Poplar St, Taylorville, IL 62568). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (820 S Cherokee St, Taylorville, IL 62568).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
