He was predeceased by: his parents, Lovell Smiley and Zella Rodgers Smiley; and his siblings, Roy Smiley and Helen Simmons. He is survived by: his children, Fredrick Smiley of Indianola, Illinois and Lucinda Goble (David) of Indianola, Illinois; his sister Ruth Ann Murphy of Tilton, Illinois; his grandchildren, D. J. Goble and Destiny Johnson (Billy); and his great grandchildren, Jacob Johnson and Aurora Lucille Johnson.
