He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Batterton and Mae Batterton (Hamm). He is survived by: his children, James Grossnickle-Batterton (Stephanie) of Lititz, PA, Andy Batterton (Virginia Bolt) of Summum, IL and Molly Curless (Dustin) of Astoria, IL; his grandchildren, Kenny (Morgan Dunbar), Justice, Koda, Dawson, Kobe, Haley, Elias and Reid; his great grandchildren, Parker and Emerson; and his brother Bill Batterton (Mona) of Astoria.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Shawgo Memorial (207 E Broadway, Astoria, IL 61501). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice or the Astoria Fire & Rescue Department.
