She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Chambers and Christine Eason Chambers; her daughter Melinda Sims; and her siblings, Bob Chambers, Bill Chambers, Jerry Chambers and Doris Chambers.

She is survived by: her husband Jim Thornton; her daughters, Lora Love of Jacksonville, IL and Debbie Place (Jason) of Pittsfield, IL; her grandchildren, Wendy Willis, Eric Willis, Josh Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes (Natalie) and Haliey Rhodes; and her sisters-in-law, Wanda Sims (Gary) and Donna Lowry (Bill). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
