It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David James Surratt of Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard G. Surratt Sr. and Laraine Surratt (Enault). He is survived by: his wife Dawn Hayes; his children, Dustin James Surratt of Jacksonville and Jessica Danielle Surratt of Jacksonville; his grandson Lowell Christopher McLoed Surratt; and his siblings, Richard Surratt Jr., Barbara Knott (Scott) and Christine McGinnis (Shawn). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Diabetes Association.
