He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Niehls and Nell Richards Niehls; his wife Mabel Louise Shanks; his son William Niehls of Belleville; his granddaughter Beth Niehls of Belleville; his siblings' children, Zina Hathcoat of Christopher, Cheryl Stratton of Jacksonville and Neal Green of New Baden; and his siblings, Shirley Green and Kenneth Niehls.
