She was predeceased by: her parents, Ronald King and Elzabeth King (Shrive); her brothers, Robert C. King, Max S. King and Ronald H. King; and her spouse Courtney Ford.

She is survived by: her former spouse Lt. Farrel S. Patterson; her sons, Ellis E. Patterson (Jeanette) of The Villages and Roger K. Patterson (Nancy) of Newport News, Virginia; and her grandchildren, Brent Patterson (Kristi) of Wauconda, Duane Patterson (Anne) of Olympia, Vanessa Patterson DiLeo of Ashland and Chelsea Patterson Kazmier of Satellite Beach, Florida. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
