He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Schone and Verna Hamilton Schone; his former spouses, Patricia Norris and Jean Burns; his son Brad; and his brother Glenn Schone (late June).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Bergschneider; his children, Karen Greifzu (Dave) of Auburn, Kim Clark (Jeff) of Chandlerville, Karla Nora (Dan) of Hoffman Estates, Kristy Abell (Jeff) of Jacksonville and Kay Habbe (Brian) of Pegram, Tennessee.; his daughter-in-law Joanie Schone-Themig (Jerome); his grandchildren, Samuel Greifzu, Aaron Greifzu (Joelie), John Greifzu (Madeline), Luke Clark (Morgan), Logan Clark (Krystina), Kyle Schone (Olivia), Chad Schone (Lauren), Thomas Nora, David Nora, Ellie Mogg (Jared), Katie Abell, Gus Abell and Adam Abell; his sister Lavona Schone of Springfield; his family Chapin; Mary Ann Jones (Jeff), Barbara Boyd (Mike), Monte Bergschneider (Jill), Guy Bergschneider, Andy Bergschneider (Carrie Haptonstall), Jill Copeland (Jonathan), Kathy Gregory, Karen Bailey (Jeff), Kelli Drury (Scott) and Fred Burns (Kathy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A prayer will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Williamson Funeral Home (1405 Lincoln Ave, Jacksonville, IL 62650). Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Our Saviour (500 E State St, Jacksonville, IL 62650). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Calvary Cemetery (1500 Lincoln Ave, Jacksonville, IL 62650).
