The memory of James L. Carter of Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away on May 30, 2025 at the age of 87, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Fay Nolan Carter; his son Jeffrey Carter, Sr.; and his siblings, Ralph Carter, Glenn Carter, Harold Carter, Ruth Simmons and Mary Davis.
He is survived by: his son Brad Garner of Perry; his grandchildren, Genna Carter of Jacksonville and Jeffrey Carter, Jr. of Jacksonville; and his stepgrandchildren, Patty Reese of Carlinville, Larry Magraw of Springfield and Elizabeth Magraw of Missouri. He is also survived by several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Twisted Tree Music & Event Hall (1061 E Morton Ave, Jacksonville, IL 62650).
