With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Robert Boes of Jacksonville, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James Robert left this world on August 23, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

As James Robert departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James Robert may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James Robert leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Theodore and Helen Boes (Voshall). He is survived by: his cousin Janice Boes of Jacksonville; and his friends, Donna Grinkey of Literberry, Daryll Grinkey (Dawnell Hubbert) of Literberry and Jamie.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

“Jim taught for 33-34 years and was a very good science instructor. He created "Boes Bucks" which was Jim's self funded way to reward students who did homework, participated in class, and improved in classroom tests and activities. Working next door to Jim it was easy to see the enthusiasm he brought to his subject matter and how he strived to see each of his students achieve success. It was a pleasure to be your colleage Jim.
