It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Smith of Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janet Smith to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mervin Gustaveson and Jessie Gustaveson (Carmichael); her spouse C. R. Smith; her grandson Randal Davenport; and her brother Donald Gustaveson (Veda).

She is survived by: her sons, Bret Davenport (Sharon) of Jacksonville and Scot Davenport (Lesley) of Bluffs; and her grandchildren, Justin Davenport (Hilary), Derek Davenport (Hannah), Kory Davenport, Amanda Davenport, Ashley Scoggins (Ross), Racenda Chaplin and Tiffany Holsman (Brian). She is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.

Memorial donations are suggested to Prairieland Heritage Museum or to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
