It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joena Meier of Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joena Meier to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, F. Byron Smith and Jean Adams Smith; her brother Byron Leland Smith; and her husband Bill Meier. She is survived by: her children, JB Meier (Anne) and Alex Meier; her stepchildren, Liza Meier (Dimitri Rologis) and William "Billy" Meier, Jr. (Jurga); and her grandchildren, Kenna Meier and Jace Meier.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Williamson Funeral Home (1405 Lincoln Ave, Jacksonville, IL 62650). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Durbin United Methodist Church, the Jacksonville Public Library, or PAWS.
