He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Geraldine Allen Hardwick and Oscar Hardwick; and his siblings, Donald Hardwick, Junior Hardwick, Everett Hardwick, Charles Hardwick and Diane Meyer.
He is survived by: his son Joseph Gene Hardwick (Tami) of Chatham, IL; his grandchildren, Michael Hardwick, Aaron Hardwick, Stephen Hardwick and Elizabeth Hardwick; and his siblings, Janet Hardwick, Karen Pruitt, Sharon Barnes (Charles) and Ronnie Hardwick. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Pittsfield West Cemetery (24123 N Grove St, Pittsfield, IL 62363).
Memorials are suggested to be made to The Dollywood Foundation to benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
