We are sad to announce that on December 25, 2023, at the age of 67, Mary Elizabeth O'Connell of Jacksonville, Illinois, born in Canton, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Floyd Melvin and Rosella Daniels Melvin; her grandchildren, Coleman, Baby Goodall and Reagan; her siblings, Viola Mae Keene, Bonnie Jean Caulkins, Linda Ilene Melvin and Jerry Lynn Melvin; and her brother-in-law Dallas Taylor.

She is survived by : her significant other George M. O'Connell; her children, Bryan Goodall (Gretchen) of Champaign, Amy Urzi (Chris) of Wentzville and Jodi Snell (Mike) of Noblesville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Emilyn, Braden, Abigail, Carmelina, Isaac, Enzo and Mikaela; her siblings, Ethel Johnson (Marvin) of Rossville, Nancy Coon (Larry) of Elmwood, Marilyn Henderson (Dale) of Urbana, Shirley Taylor of Cuba, Penny Stambaugh (Jim) of Cuba, Malissa West of Cuba, Bertha Sneyd (Chuck) of Springfield, Pauline Melvin Mahan of Ipava, Floyd Melvin (Becky) of Havana, Jim Melvin (Debbie) of Marietta and Ron Melvin (Steve Phillips) of Nashville; and her aunt Dorothy Foley of Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Memorial Home Services Hospice or Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
