He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ross; his children, Julie Cook (Jeff Wright) of Oro Valley and Matthew Meyer (Brianne) of Edwardsville; his grandsons, Drew and Dylan Cook of Oro Valley, Arizona.; and his brothers, David Meyer (Janell) of Peoria, Steve Meyer of Carlinville, Phil Meyer (Sherry) of Rockbridge, Jerry Meyer (Robin) of Waynesville, Jeff Meyer (Kim) of Brighton and Eric Meyer (Janice) of Greenfield.

Memorials are suggested to the Jacksonville Police Department.
