Abbey of Jacksonville, Illinois, born in Hannibal, Missouri, who passed away on July 1, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Humphrey Abbey and Nora Chatman; his sisters, Gloria Faye Abbey Gordon and Clara Belle Abbey; and his daughters, Beverley Tangman and Debbie Norton.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Rose DeCamp; his children, Tracey Abbey of Jacksonville, Jewell Harper (Sylvester) of Springfield, Harlan Abbey (Ron Farmer) of Jacksonville and Robert "Bob" Stambaugh of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Cedric Abbey (Angela), Angel Abbey, Asia Mosley, Sylvester Harper Jr., Britney Harper, Regan Grimes, Coby Stambaugh (Net) and Brandon Stambaugh (Toras); and his caregiver Penny Williams. He is also survived by great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Prairie Council on Aging in Jacksonville.
