He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence L. Moss and Charlotte L. Moss (Brockhouse); and his sisters, Betty Moss, Charlotte Joan Moss, Shirley Lumpkins, Donna McCray and Sandy Pekarek.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Eileen Brogdon; his son James R. Moss (Michelle) of Jacksonville; his stepsons, Danny Wood (Susan) of Jacksonville and Donny Wood (Michelle) of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Kody, Klay, Zoe, Daisy and Zach; his stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Abby; his great grandchildren, Ragen, Freyja, Florence and Maverick; and his siblings, Roger Moss of Concord, Mary Louise Brockhouse (late Gerald) of Jacksonville and Phyliss Sherren (late Lee) of Concord.

A graveside service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Concord Cemetery.
