It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Rueter of Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Richard departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Richard. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Rueter and Judith Christison Rueter; and his brothers, Jim and Roger Rueter. He is survived by: his daughter Meagan Murray (Daniel); and his grandson Emmett Murray.

Memorials are suggested to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
