He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Russell Surratt and Viola Marie Hamm Surratt; his wife Barbara Ater; his children, Andrew Surratt (Amanda) of New Berlin and Julie Wilkinson (Phil) of Morris; his grandchildren, Ashley Surratt, Hayden Surratt, Wyatt Wilkinson and Rose Wilkinson; and his siblings, Rhonda Willard (Leo) of Springfield, Gerry McDannald (Nimmie) of Jacksonville, Terry "Pete" Surratt (Corky) of Jacksonville, Gary Surratt (Tammy) of Chapin, Bernice McCurley and Berneta Berry. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to Concord Cemetery, Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice, Indian Creek 4-H Club, or the Triopia Public School Foundation.
