He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Gilbert; his sons, Brent of Jacksonville and Kyle Esslinger of Jacksonville; his sister Jill Esslinger Reed Matheny (James) of Jacksonville; his nieces and nephews, Aubrey Reed (Joe Erthal) and Zachary Reed (Kelsey); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maddax Taapken, Eli and Addie Jo Reed; his brother Bob Esslinger (Becky) of Champaign; his nephew Chad Esslinger (Patty); his niece Stephanie Esslinger (Alex Singleton); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maddie, Hannah, Ben Esslinger, Sophie, Jacob and Emma Wheeler; and his niece Rhonda Gilbert.
